The first joint Russian-Turkish patrol in 2021 took place in the Syrian province of Al-Hasakah

The first joint patrol in 2021 was successfully conducted by Russian and Turkish soldiers in the province of Al-Hasakah in north-eastern Syria.

"Today, for the first time in 2021, a joint Russian-Turkish patrol was conducted. The patrol was preceded by a thorough preparation of weapons and military equipment, personnel, and the work of the coordination center. The patrol was carried out in normal mode, without incident, " said Major Sergey Zamay, senior column of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

During the patrol, the military personnel of the two countries passed a route of 50 kilometers and monitored five settlements, as well as the oil fields of the province. Before the war, the province of Al-Haseke was one of the most promising industrial regions of the country, however, now the rigs have been stopped, and the volume of oil production has fallen 20 times compared to the pre-war level.

80 Russian and Turkish servicemen took part in the joint patrol. The column included armored vehicles "Tiger", "Rys", "Typhoon" and Turkish Kirpi II. From the air, they were covered by Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-35 helicopters of the army aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The Russian and Turkish sides set up joint patrol routes in the Russian-Turkish coordination center. Russian and Turkish military personnel are assisted by military interpreters.
