A unit of the Russian military police arrived at a joint observation post with the Syrian army in Ain-Issa
A military police unit of the Russian Armed Forces arrived at a joint observation post with the Syrian army in the town of Ain-Issa in Raqqa province in northern Syria.
"The task of my platoon is to prevent the breakout of militants in the direction of the city of Ain-Issa, as well as to monitor the M4 highway. With the arrival of the Russian military, it became much easier for us, the situation finally normalized, " said the commander of the Syrian army platoon serving at the observation post, Osam Ahmad.
Earlier, the post, which is located a few hundred meters from the positions of the militants, was held by Syrian soldiers on their own, being subjected to shelling and even attempts to attack illegal armed groups.
Now that the Russian military police are stationed at the post, the Syrians hope that the militants will comply with the agreements reached earlier. The post will be the third in the area of Ain-Issa, where Russian and Syrian soldiers will monitor compliance with the ceasefire jointly.
