The LAS "Vice-Admiral Kulakov" of the Northern fleet destroyed a submarine of a mock enemy during an exercise in the Mediterranean sea
The large anti-submarine ship (LAS) "Vice-Admiral Kulakov", which previously made a call at the Russian Navy base in the Syrian Tartus, conducted an exercise in the Mediterranean sea, during which it destroyed a submarine of a mock enemy.
At the first stage of the exercise, the LAS crew escorted the tanker "Akademik Pashin", worked out issues of anti-aircraft, anti-ship and anti-submarine defense in cooperation with the Russian Aerospace Forces, and also conducted damage control training.
According to the plan of the event, a submarine of a mock enemy attacked a Russian merchant ship. A Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter took off to search for the submarine. Having found the target, it sent a message to the LAS "Vice Admiral Kulakov" command post, after which the ship's commander decided to attack the submarine with jet depth charges.
The LAS crew also worked out counteraction to underwater sabotage groups. To neutralize the saboteurs, the area around the ships is pelted with grenades.
As a result of the exercise, the Russian tanker was able to reach the destination port, the forces of the mock enemy were destroyed.
