As part of the implementation of the Memorandum on the establishment of de-escalation zones in the Syrian Arab Republic, signed by the Russian Federation, the Republic of Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Iran on 4 May 2017, control groups continue monitoring ceasefire compliance.
According to the agreement of the Russian and Turkish sides, from 00.01 on March 6, 2020, a cessation of hostilities is in effect on the territory of the Idlib de-escalation zone.
The Russian part of the representation of the joint Russian-Turkish Commission on issues related to violations of the cessation of hostilities recorded 38 facts of opening fire (according to the Syrian side – 32) in the provinces: Idlib – 28, Aleppo – 3, Latakia – 7.
The Turkish part of the representation stated 23 facts of opening fire (the Russian part of the representation confirmed – 0).
Humanitarian aid provided for the Syrian population
Over the last 24 hours the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring did not conduct humanitarian actions.
A total of 2,593 humanitarian actions were carried out, and the total weight of the delivered humanitarian cargo was 4,425,991 tons.
