Briefing by Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring in Syria (November 21, 2021)

Work continues in the Syrian Arab Republic to resolve the conflict in a non-military manner and to provide comprehensive assistance to Syrian citizens in restoring peaceful life.

Over the past day, representatives of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides have not carried out humanitarian actions.

Since the beginning of the settlement process, the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides has conducted 3,027 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 5,2 thousand tons.

The joint efforts of Russia and Turkey continue to implement the provisions of the Russian-Turkish Memorandum of common ground of October 22, 2019.

Russian military police units conducted patrols in the province of Aleppo on the route from al-Arimah to Bozgeqli and back, and al-Arimah to Korakozak and back, and Metras to Sheikh Choban and back in the provinces of Raqqa and Hasakah on the route from Ain-Isa to Tell-Tamer and back, in al-Hasakah province along the route Mamddukha to Qamishliyah and back.

During the day, on the section of the M4 highway between Tell-Tamer, Ain-Isa settlements in Al-Hasakah and Raqqa provinces, the Russian military police ensured the safe movement of 474 civilians and 269 civilian vehicles.

At the same time, in the Idlib de-escalation zone, 5 attacks were recorded in Aleppo province from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy, and ensure delivery of humanitarian relief to Syrian civilians.
