These checkpoints are prepared for opening with the assistance of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in connection with the increased number of requests from the population of non-Damascus-controlled areas about the lack of qualified medical care and the emergency socio-economic situation caused by the suffocating US sanctions.
The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy, and ensure delivery of humanitarian relief to Syrian civilians.
