Briefing by Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring in Syria (February 6, 2021)
Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Over the past day, representatives of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides held one humanitarian action in Aleppo city, during which 375 food packages with a total weight of 1.8 tons were issued to the population.
In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 2712 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 4,6 thousand tons.
The joint efforts of Russia and Turkey continue to implement the provisions of the Russian-Turkish Memorandum of common ground of October 22, 2019.
Russian military police units continued patrolling in the Membij area of Aleppo province from Ajami along two routes in the direction of Membij and Karakozak.
Patrol was carried out by units of the Russian military police in the provinces of al-Hasakah and Raqqa along the route from Ain Isa, Tell Tamer and back; in al-Hasakeh province along the route from Qamishliyah to Khamara and back; in Aleppo province along the route Djakhir al-Fuqani to 596 hight and back.
The Army Aviation carried out air patrol along the route from Qamishliyah to Tval Aba and back.
Russian military police units continue to escort civilian vehicles along the M4 highway between the settlements of Ain-Isa in Raqqa province and Tell-Tamer in Hasakah province, organized by the CPVS in cooperation with local administrations since May 25 this year. A total of 41,463 vehicles and 76,463 people have been escorted since May 25.
Over the past day, there have been no reports of attacks by active illegal armed groups controlled by Turkey.
At the same time, in the Idlib de-escalation zone, 23 attacks were recorded from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (including 20 attacks according to the Syrian side), of which 13 attacks were recorded in Idlib province, 5 attacks in Aleppo province, 2 attacks in Latakia province and 3 attacks in Hama province.
The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy, and ensure delivery of humanitarian relief to Syrian civilians.
