Russian soldiers held a humanitarian action in the Syrian province of Aleppo
Soldiers of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides (CPVS) distributed food packages to residents of the destroyed city of Quires-al-Sharqi in the Syrian province of Aleppo, which was seriously affected by terrorist's looting.
"This locality was chosen not by chance — as the most affected by the fighting. The local population is in a state of distress, houses are destroyed, " explained the head of the group for the formation and delivery of humanitarian supplies of CPVS, adding that about 450 people now live in Quires-al-Sharqi.
The city was badly damaged, being captured by the militants. It is strategically important, so it was difficult for the Syrian army to liberate it. Battles were fought for every house, and there was not a single whole building left in the city. In addition, local residents who did not have time to leave, seriously suffered from the looting of terrorists, losing their property.
At the moment, the local authorities managed to restore the school, where they held a humanitarian action. Residents of the city were given 250 food packages, including flour, cereals and sugar. The poorest families received double the amount of assistance.
According to local residents, one of the main problems for them was unemployment. Before the war, most of the townspeople worked in the nearby industrial area, which will be restored together with the city.
