Briefing by the Centre for Reconciliation and Control of the movement of refugees in the Syrian Arab Republic (March 24, 2020)
Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides has held no humanitarian actions over the past day. In total, since the beginning of the settlement process, the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties has conducted 2,420 humanitarian actions. The total weight of the humanitarian cargo was 4,021.4 tons.
Over the past day, medical specialists of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation provided medical assistance to 39 Syrian citizens in the village of Qamishliya in the province of Hasakeh. Medical specialists of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation provided medical assistance to 132,874 residents of Syria.
The joint efforts of Russia and Turkey continue to implement the provisions of the Russian-Turkish Memorandum of understanding as of October 22, 2019.
Continued patrols by units of the Russian military police on the following routes: Ajami-el-Gutta – Meserve – Tlala – Abu-el-Kahf – Al-Bireh – Harupia-Kebir – Khamir-Labda – Kabeer-Kebir – the southern-outskirts of Membij – Kurd-Tahtani – Bozveli-Meserve-el-Buir-Deliver – Khaled-el-Higan-Misra – Ajami; Ajami – Misra – Khaled-el-Higan-Deliver – Khirbet-Nafah -Meserve-el-Buir – Bozveli – Kurd-Tahtani-Kebab - Bania-Hire-el-Hassan – Tall-Yasti – north east outskirts of Membij - Hargaden – Kanat-el-Gara-Okusko – Tuk-el-Khalil – Machta-el -Hajar-es-Segura-Abu-Mandil - Coscale-Kebir – Ajami; Corabi – Kobani – Kula – Dermazin – Shiuh-Foukani-el-Lijek – Kurdina – Dudley – Kogali-Tahtani-Cogli-Foukani – Kabli – Catia Chugiak-Muman-Azo – Corabi in the province of Aleppo; Qimishlia – Mabruk – Qimislia in the province of Hasakah.
The army aviation forces conducted air patrols along the route: airfield Metras – Hanik-Faukani-Ain-Isa-Mazaraat-Bir Hamid-Kvayres airfield.
In accordance with the Russian-Turkish agreements, a ceasefire was introduced in the Idlib de-escalation zone from 00:01 on March 6, 2020. Over the past day, no attacks were registered by illegal armed groups controlled by Turkey.
At the same time, 7 attacks were recorded on the settlements of Kafer-Nebel, Trumba, Khantunin, Hazarin, Jdar-Al-Gab, Serakab in Idlib province from the positions of the terrorist organization "Jabhat al-Nusra".
A special continuous communication channel has been created between the Russian center for reconciliation of the opposing sides and the Turkish side for operational interaction.
Terrorist groups that are not controlled by the Turkish side continue to take actions to destabilize the situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
On March 24, improvised explosive devices planted by terrorists detonated on the route of a Turkish convoy while patrolling in the area of the village of Sfukhon in Idlib province. As a result of the explosions, two armored vehicles were damaged. Two Turkish soldiers were injured.
The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy.
