Briefing of the Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Control of the Movement of Refugees in the Syrian Arab Republic (August 3, 2021)

Work continues in the Syrian Arab Republic to resolve the conflict in a non-military manner and to provide comprehensive assistance to Syrian citizens in restoring peaceful life.

Over the past day, representatives of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides held one humanitarian action in the village of al-Huseyniya in the province of Deir-ez-Zor, during which the population was given food packages with a total weight of 0.2 tons.

Since the beginning of the settlement process, the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides has conducted 2,974 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 5,2 thousand tons.

The joint efforts of Russia and Turkey continue to implement the provisions of the Russian-Turkish Memorandum of common ground of October 22, 2019.

Russian military police units continued patrolling in the Membij area of Aleppo province from Ajami along two routes in the direction of Karakozak and Membij.

Patrol was carried out by units of the Russian military police in the provinces of al-Hasakah and Raqqa along the route from Ain Isa, Tell Tamer and back; in al-Hasakeh province along the route Amuda, Qamishliah and back; in Deir ez-Zor province along the route Hatlah, al-Salhiyah and back.

Russian military police units continue to escort civilian vehicles along the M4 highway between the settlements of Ain-Isa in Raqqa province and Tell-Tamer in Hasakah province.
Over the past day, 463 vehicles and 281 people were escorted. A total of 76,755 vehicles and 149,854 people have been escorted since May 25.

Over the past day, 32 attacks from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group were recorded in the Idlib de-escalation zone (including 26 attacks, according to the Syrian side). 12 attacks were registered in Idlib province, 7 attacks were registered in Latakia province, 7 attacks were registered in Aleppo province, and 6 attacks were registered in Hama province.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy, and ensure delivery of humanitarian relief to Syrian civilians.
