Bulletin of the Russian Defence Ministry on implementation of the Memorandum on creation of de-escalation zones (May 8, 2017)
Control groups continue monitoring the ceasefire observation within the implementation of the Memorandum on creation of the de-escalation zones in the Syrian Arab Republic, which had been signed by the Russia, Turkey, and Iran on May 4, 2017.
Situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable.
Within last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 19 cases of firing in the provinces of Damascus (10), Latakia (4), Daraa (1), and Hama (4).
The Turkish party has registered 5 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Damascus (4) and Daraa (1).
Most cases of unselective firing from small arms have been registered in the areas controlled by insurgents of the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groupings.
On the case of ceasefire violation registered near Zellaqiyat (21 km to the north-west from Hama), the Russian party requested the Turkish side to appeal to opposition armed formations not to respond to provocations of terrorists against the Syrian government troops.
The Turkish party informed the Russian one that it had appealed to opposition armed formations not to respond to provocations of the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groupings.
Humanitarian aid provided to the Syrian population
Within last 24 hours, the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides has delivered 6 tons of drinking water to civilians in the Aleppo province.
1,880 citizens have received humanitarian aid.
Total number of humanitarian events has reached 1181.
Aircraft of the Abakan Air aviation company delivered 21 tons of humanitarian aid (food products) to the Deir ez-Zor area using parachute platforms. The aid was provided by the United Nations.
Reconciliation of opposing sides
Within last 24 hours, 4 ceasefire agreements have been signed with representatives of Habab in the Daraa province, al-Matalekh in the Damascus province as well as of Skhita and al-Knif in the al-Quneitra province.
Total number of inhabited areas, the leaders of which had signed reconciliation agreements has reached 1,483.
Negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have been continued with field commanders of detachments of armed opposition in the Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Hama, and al-Quneitra provinces.
The number of armed formations, which had claimed to observe the ceasefire regime, is 213.
