Briefing by Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria (April 11, 2019)
Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic. The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring has held no humanitarian actions over the past day. In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 2,096 humanitarian actions.
The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 3,333.7 tones. As part of the implementation of the decree of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Syrian authorities continue to work on amnesty for those who evade from military service, including those among refugees and former members of illegal armed groups. As for April 10, 2019, in total 57,483 were granted amnesty. Social infrastructure is being recovered. 31,537 houses, 842 educational facilities and 154 medical centres has been recovered. Besides, 1,030.5 km of roads have been repaired. In order to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the Rukban refugee camp, a humanitarian corridor and the Jleb mobile checkpoint are set up, where also specially formed columns of buses are also sent for the voluntary and unimpeded return of temporarily displaced persons from the al-Tanf area to the places of their permanent residence.
The Syrian government guarantees the security of temporarily displaced persons and a simplified procedure for the restoration of documents. There are also centres for temporary accommodation for refugees. A total of 459 people have managed to leave the Rukban camp over the past day. Since February 19, 2019, in total 2,284 people have left the Rukban camp for the territories controlled by the Syrian government.
Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone. During the day, terrorists have attacked Jubb al-Zarur (twice) and Eyn al-Ashra, Latakia province, Tell Bizam in Hama province, the area of scientific and research center in the city of Aleppo.
