Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic. Representatives of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation carried out two humanitarian actions in the settlement of Khusham, Deir ez-Zor province, and Buedan, Daraa province. People received 500 food sets. In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 2,060 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 3,255.8 tons. Russian military police ensured safe return of the first part of the UN-SARC humanitarian convoy from the Rukban refugee camp. A convoy of 55 trucks, two UN armoured vehicles, two armoured vehicles and one ambulance car left the 55-kilometer "security zone" around the US base in Al-Tanf and, escorted by Russian troops, returned safely to Damascus. Refugees are making their way back home. Ten check points including one at the Damascus International Airport and the Baniyas maritime one are operating with support of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides. As for February 9, 2019, in total 221,854 Syrians returned. Social infrastructure is being recovered to create favourable conditions for returnees. Over the past day militants in the Idlib de-escalation zone have attacked Kinsabba in Latakia province and al-Hader, Aleppo province. The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy. * * * In the territories controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces in the provinces of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, protests of local residents continue with demands to withdraw the troops of the US-led coalition from Syria. Over the last 24 hours such protests have been registered in al-Tabqa, Raqqa province.
