Briefing by Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria (31 July 2019)

Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Representatives of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation held one humanitarian action in al-Baida, Tartous province.
In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 2,174 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 3,511.7 tons.
Refugees are making their way back home. Ten check points are operating with support of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides.
Social infrastructure is being recovered to create favourable conditions for returnees. To date, 32,036 houses, 877 educational facilities and 184 medical centres has been recovered. Besides, 1,072.8 km of roads have been repaired.
Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
Over the past 24 hours terrorists attacked Benyamin, Maqanis al-Duwairy in Aleppo province, Argash Dag, Bait Djnauro, Sandran, Safsafa, Qara Galia, Djibouti al-Ahmar, Qalat Marza, Djurin and Ain al-Qantara in Latakia province, Djubbain, Qorqad, Shariyah, Qalat al-Mudik, Kafer Nbuda, Qara Djrun and Huaiz in Hama province.
The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy.
