Briefing by Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria (April 13, 2019)

Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring has held no humanitarian actions over the past day.

In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 2,096 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 3,333.7 tones.

Social infrastructure is being recovered. 31,545 houses, 843 educational facilities and 156 medical centres has been recovered. Besides, 1,031.1 km of roads have been repaired.

In order to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the Rukban refugee camp, a humanitarian corridor and the Jleb mobile checkpoint are set up, where also specially formed columns of buses are also sent for the voluntary and unimpeded return of temporarily displaced persons from the al-Tanf area to the places of their permanent residence.

The Syrian government guarantees the security of temporarily displaced persons and a simplified procedure for the restoration of documents. There are also centres for temporary accommodation for refugees.

Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

Over the past day, militants have attacked settlements of Safsafa and Jubb al-Mgara in Latakia province, Abu-Omar (twice) Idlib in Idlib provnce, Tel Hamra and Hara in Aleppo province.
