Briefing by Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria (April 8, 2019)
Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring has held a humanitarian action in Aleppo to distribute 500 food sets over the past day.
In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 2,094 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 3,329.44 tons.
As part of the implementation of the decree of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Syrian authorities continue to work on amnesty for those who evade from military service, including those among refugees and former members of illegal armed groups. As for April 7, 2019, in total 57,425 were granted amnesty.
Social infrastructure is being recovered. 31,519 houses, 840 educational facilities and 153 medical centres have been recovered. Besides, 1,029km of roads have been repaired.
In order to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the Rukban refugee camp, a humanitarian corridor and the Jleb mobile checkpoint are set up, where also specially formed columns of buses are also sent for the voluntary and unimpeded return of temporarily displaced persons from the al-Tanf area to the places of their permanent residence.
The Syrian government guarantees the security of temporarily displaced persons and a simplified procedure for the restoration of documents. There are also centres for temporary accommodation for refugees.
Over the past day, 451 people have left the Rukban camp via the humanitarian corridor.
Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
During the day militants have attacked Safsafa (eight times), Bsharfa (four times), Rasha, Qastal-al-Borj- Barisha, Ruayset-Iskander, Eyn-al-Kantara and al-Amara in Latakia province, Abu-Omar, Abu-Dali and Mutuasta in Idlib province, Aleppo and Sabikiyah in Aleppo province.
As a result of attack at Masyaf, Hama province, when terrorists used improvised multiple launch rocket systems, four people were killed and 12 civilians wounded.
The SAA troops repelled an attempt of militants to break through in area of Kbana, Latakia province.
