Russian Defence Ministry gave ICRC list of Syrian cities in humanitarian disaster
Chief of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation Major General Alexander Kshimovsky gave Dominik Stillhart, the ICRC Director of operations, the list of the Syrian cities that are badly in need of humanitarian aid.
According to the Chief of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation, most Syrian cities laying in ruins, the world community is to join the efforts to provide humanitarian relief to the Syrian people.
‘The SAA troops supported by the Russian Aerospace forces have taken under the control territories populated by most part of the country’s people. Now the urgent issue concerns postwar reconstruction. It is necessary to set up recovery work to restore the infrastructure’ urged Alexander Kshimovsky.
He expressed hope that the combined efforts would improve the current envoirnment.
In return, Dominik Stillhart outlined his view on cooperation between the highly respected international organization and Russia.
‘We are represented in 90 countries over the world and operate in all armed conflicts' reminded he. When it came to the ICRC presence in Syria, he elaborated that last year the organization operated on both sides of the front line with the bilateral consent and that of the Syrian government.
