Detachment of the International Mine Action Centre has arrived in Palmyra for mine-clearing operation
Detachment of the International Mine Action Centre has arrived in Syria to provide assistance in clearing Palmyra, which had been liberated from terrorists, from mines.
Engineers and special hardware were projected by military transport aircraft from the Chkalovsky airfield to the Hmeymim airbase.
The military servicemen have already reached the assigned area to start clearing infrastructure and objects of historical part of Palmyra.
Moreover, the Russian servicemen will test prospective samples of explosive searching and detection equipment as well as personnel protection uniform.
In total, more than 150 specialists of the International Mine Action Centre and 17 pieces of special hardware as well as a unit with mine-searching dogs have been delivered in Syria.
